So don’t wait, start taking these actions now and turn today into a better one!

1. Skip on the gossip

Just smile and walk away. The sense of skipping the drama gives an instant kick of positive energy and accomplishment.

2. Take your shoes off & go outside

There is a new kid in town, called Earthing. If you haven’t heard about the Earthing- it’s basically walking barefoot on the natural ground. Some of the benefits include:

  • stabilization of the physiology at the deepest levels
  • reduction of inflammation, pain, and stress
  • improved blood flow, energy, and sleep
  • generates greater well-being

So what are you waiting for? Take your shoes off & go outside!

3. Skip that 4th cup of coffee

For you that might be the second one, or something completely different for that matter. Whatever it is, you know you shouldn’t have it- so just skip it. Thank yourself later.

4. Take a cold shower

One of the easiest and quickest ways to a good mood and well being. Cold showers have been known to improve mood, circulation, lower the stress levels (yes anxiety too) and reduce muscle soreness and fatigue. Yup, instantly. The only downside? Only the cold shower itself.

5. Reach the book instead of netflix before bed

Just imagine, all these subjects that interest you, all those theories you have about things… It’s all one book away. And the feeling of you choosing that instead of binging Netflix (even occasionally) could be described only as liberating…

6. take a break

Whatever you are doing it’s always good to take a break. Have you heard about dolce far niente?

7. Give your phone a break too

Make a digital detox, or a solemn promise not to touch it in the first and last hour surrounding your sleep. It’s fascinating to me how much my thinking differs when I’m on my phone a lot and when I’m not. Not to mention the tension headache.

8. Give a sincere compliment

Say something nice to someone and mean it, then watch the ripple effect it makes. Obviously to the person you say it to- it was Marc Twain who said it once: I can live for two months on a good compliment. But even more… On yourself! Just the fact that you made a positive impact on someone makes you feel better about yourself too. Try it and see for yourself.

9. Smile to a random person

Smiling to a random person and them smiling back is such a delight. Almost like: Hey there– but without actually saying anything.

10. Dance

Dancing is silent poetry. And aside from being romanticized by many (me included), it is a great way to lift your mood and perhaps even express yourself (not to mention a fantastic exercise). It can be recreational, occasional, professional, spiritual… Or it can simply be you moving with your favorite music in your living room.

Note:

It’s good to remember that when life starts getting complicated, all we have to do is go back to the basics. To our core values, such as: nature, movement and basic human interaction. That might not be the solution to all of our problems, but it’s surely a good place to start.
